Are any of you interested in adopting me? My foster family calls me Su and I am learning lots of new things so I will be ready to move in with you. Today I starting to learn how to wait at doorways and not run out. Apparently that will be an important skill in retirement. Yesterday I learned how to go down stairs so I could get from the porch to the big white box they call a van. Today I learned to go up the stairs from one floor of the house to the other. At first I couldn't figure out what to do. Foster mom gently took my feet & placed them on the stairs one after another. I figured it out really fast from there and next thing I knew I was in a whole new part of the house.
There's this thing up there called a bathroom. When I looked inside I saw another black Greyhound just my size. I went to say hi but something called a counter was in the way so I jumped up on my back legs to peak at her & she jumped up on her back legs to peak at me. There we were both hopping up & down trying to see each other. Did foster mom help? NO! Instead she just laughed at me and told me I was silly. Harrumph! She said it wasn't really another Greyhound but my own self I was hopping up & down with. She said it's all done with mirrors. I don't know what she meant but I sure know another hound when I see one so I know that was a hound I saw in that mirror thing. I hope she gets out of the mirror soon & gets to visit with me.
So then I we headed back to the first floor but that meant I had to go down the stairs I had just climbed up. Wasn't so sure about that at first. Foster mom had to encouraged me to give it a try. It was a little scary but turned out to be only a little harder than the porch stairs. I've down those stairs twice since them. Eazy peazy now, but I still have to take a deep breath & remind myself going down isn't that hard. Foster mom has a rug at the bottom so if I get going too fast I won't slide on the wood floor at the bottom.
Today started with foster mom leaving. Leaving? She took Soleil with her but left Venus & I at home with the kitties. Where's she going? Why did she leave us? But I was in my comfy bedroom so I just laid down to wait. Later foster man woke up & came out of the bedroom. He took me outside to play some more then put me back in my bedroom. Then he left, too. Wow, what's going on? He didn't go far though. His office is just up the stairs & on the right. He had something called a webcam which looks like a big ol' eye sitting on a table, just staring at me. It stared at me all day. He told foster mom that I was good and quiet. Well, of course I am. It's me, Su, after all. I'm super. I know I am because that's my name. Though there was one time where that Tasty Kitty came by & stared at me. What's up with that cat? I finally got fed up & barked at her. Foster man told me to settle down & called Tasty upstairs. I did settle down & went to sleep fast. Dreamed of giant eyes & cat statures that just stare at me. Before I knew it their work day was over & we were having dinner, playing with toys & hanging out together.
Is this what it will be like with my new family? I hope I get to find out soon. Do you want to meet me?
