I am sending an extra special thank you to Jennifer Z. for being my sponsor. You helped pay for the extra expenses involved in getting me up from the track and ready for my new home. Because of you & other sponsors like you SEGA can get more of my friends homes now that their racing days on over.
Thank you, Ms. Jennifer!! I'll always be your hound, too.

Now I'm Sunita!
I've not a new name & a new home. The new name is no problem. The new home part is confusing. I don't understand why they call it new when it's the same place I've been living for the last month. My foster lady here says that's because they have adopted me so I am not a foster anymore. Well, whatever you call it, this is where I'm staying. Here are some pics of me with my new friends, now my new family.
Soleil & I have different ears
I like watching the neighbors' donkeys
See, I can make donkey ears
Hey lady. Got any more treats
Sol is always trying to get me to run
Sol, "Save some treats for me."
How do you work this thing?
That's Venus, goddess of yoga.
I'm starting to catch on to this retirement thing.

Earning my keep
Wow, what a way to start the day. I went hunting this morning & I caught a mouse! Yep, that's right. I've only been here a few days & I'm already helping. Maybe I could get a job in pest control. Was foster mom pleased with me? I guess so. She watched me catch the mouse.
Then she laughed with delight. She even took a pic of my prey for my scrap book. Now, don't look if you're squeamish. It isn't a pretty sight but here's what I caught.
Then she gave me a big bowl of food as a thank you & I took a nap in my bedroom. This retirement stuff is fun. Do you have any mice? I offer my services to you.

Day 3 of foster life
Are any of you interested in adopting me? My foster family calls me Su and I am learning lots of new things so I will be ready to move in with you. Today I starting to learn how to wait at doorways and not run out. Apparently that will be an important skill in retirement. Yesterday I learned how to go down stairs so I could get from the porch to the big white box they call a van. Today I learned to go up the stairs from one floor of the house to the other. At first I couldn't figure out what to do. Foster mom gently took my feet & placed them on the stairs one after another. I figured it out really fast from there and next thing I knew I was in a whole new part of the house.
There's this thing up there called a bathroom. When I looked inside I saw another black Greyhound just my size. I went to say hi but something called a counter was in the way so I jumped up on my back legs to peak at her & she jumped up on her back legs to peak at me. There we were both hopping up & down trying to see each other. Did foster mom help? NO! Instead she just laughed at me and told me I was silly. Harrumph! She said it wasn't really another Greyhound but my own self I was hopping up & down with. She said it's all done with mirrors. I don't know what she meant but I sure know another hound when I see one so I know that was a hound I saw in that mirror thing. I hope she gets out of the mirror soon & gets to visit with me.
So then I we headed back to the first floor but that meant I had to go down the stairs I had just climbed up. Wasn't so sure about that at first. Foster mom had to encouraged me to give it a try. It was a little scary but turned out to be only a little harder than the porch stairs. I've down those stairs twice since them. Eazy peazy now, but I still have to take a deep breath & remind myself going down isn't that hard. Foster mom has a rug at the bottom so if I get going too fast I won't slide on the wood floor at the bottom.
Today started with foster mom leaving. Leaving? She took Soleil with her but left Venus & I at home with the kitties. Where's she going? Why did she leave us? But I was in my comfy bedroom so I just laid down to wait. Later foster man woke up & came out of the bedroom. He took me outside to play some more then put me back in my bedroom. Then he left, too. Wow, what's going on? He didn't go far though. His office is just up the stairs & on the right. He had something called a webcam which looks like a big ol' eye sitting on a table, just staring at me. It stared at me all day. He told foster mom that I was good and quiet. Well, of course I am. It's me, Su, after all. I'm super. I know I am because that's my name. Though there was one time where that Tasty Kitty came by & stared at me. What's up with that cat? I finally got fed up & barked at her. Foster man told me to settle down & called Tasty upstairs. I did settle down & went to sleep fast. Dreamed of giant eyes & cat statures that just stare at me. Before I knew it their work day was over & we were having dinner, playing with toys & hanging out together.
Is this what it will be like with my new family? I hope I get to find out soon. Do you want to meet me?

Play date!
Wow, I didn't know I would be so busy during retirement. We had a play date with some other Greyhounds plus something called Poodle. But first we had to get back in the white box & go for a ride. Again, I got so excited that I just started whining. I couldn't help it. It's all so stimulating & I have to tell everyone about it. My foster mom was surprised because I am very quiet at the house... except when that Tasty Kitty sits & stares at me while I'm trying to relax in my bedroom. (Honest, that's her real name not my description of her.) Anyway, I guess I was a little annoying for a while but then I realized we had a long ride ahead of us so I settle down for a nap.
Wow, what fun. I got to see new people & a few different types of funny looking dogs. It was just us Greyhounds plus a poser, the Poodle, in the yard together. The other dogs were walking by. I ran to the fence to meet them. They all seemed nice & I think I wouldn't mind it if my new family had some non-Greyhounds.
After that we were tired but I wasn't so tired that the idea of going for another ride didn't get me excited again. I quickly climbed into the white box & then told everyone how exciting it was. This time though I was getting used to riding so my whining talking didn't last long. The other dogs just got in, laid down & went to sleep. So I decided to ride the rest of the way home like they do. "Home" sounds so nice. I hope I get my own forever home soon.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that a met a person in funny fur. Foster mom said it was a uniform not funny fur. He's called a policeman. He stopped to say hi when he saw all us Greyhounds playing. He seemed really nice and said he wants his own Greyhound one day soon. Hmmm... maybe a man in uniform would be a good choice for me.
Here are some pics of our visit:
My roommates are in back left & that's my new Poodle friend front right.
I'm the black houndie on left with two other new friends, plus my Poodle buddy. We're on our way back from getting a drink.
So there I was posing pretty for the camera when a blur of white came by. It was my roommate, Soleil.

Down on the farm
Most of us Greyhounds were born on farms but I've never see a farm like this one. Outside there's this really big dog with a longer nose than mine & funny looking feet. They call him a horse. And there's another dog with big things growing out of his head that spiral off to the sides & he has even funnier looking feet. They call him a goat.
Inside is where we spend lots of time. And inside is where the strangest things of all live. They're not dogs & they can be dangerous if you poke one with your nose. That's something I am going to remember not to do again. They're not too bad if you don't bother them. These things are called cats. One of them is boring. He's not even worth my time to investigate. [Yawn] The other one though is interesting & tries to get me into trouble. She runs out from under furniture, stares at me for a minute & then runs away. The humans don't like it if I chase the cat but the cat isn't happy or satisfied if I don't chase her. I can't win. So sometimes I forget myself & do what the cat wants. I run after her. Then the human calls me, "Su, stop. Over here." And then I tell the cat, "Later dude," and run over to visit the human. A couple times though, when I was relaxing in my bedroom, the cat came & just stared at me. She stared & stared. Finally I got so frustrated that I barked at her. Oi vey! The humans don't like that either. So I got quiet again when they asked me to hush and then they took me outside so I could run in the yard & forget about that evil doing kitty. (They're cats but the humans also call them kitties.) Oh, that leads me to something else.
The best part about this place is I have my own bedroom. I love it. It's got a great view of everything going on in the main part of the house. I can find fun toys in the living room, grab them & take them back to my bedroom to investigate. When it's meal time I get fed in my bedroom so at dinner & breakfast I run back & forth from the human with the food bowls to my bedroom. Finally the lady says, "Kennel up," & I hurry into my room to get my meal. I worried when I retired that I would have to give up room service but I didn't. Sometimes though I go to get back in my bedroom & there is someone else in there. That's when the lady says, "Soleil. Out." That gets my roommate Sol to leave my bed & go back to his own.
Here I am relaxing in my bedroom after playing outside:

I'm on my way
Well, someone has given me a lift to a new place called a house. I've never seen one of those before. The idea has me so excited that I am whining, talking to my chauffeur. There are so many new things to see & learn that I'm anxious to get started.
This ride thing is fun. Hey, Soleil, look at that!
